Admittedly, this small change makes the system look much more up-to-date. Judging by the information on the Internet, Microsoft will not radically change the “insides” of this menu – the innovations will only affect the design of the window itself. The control panel will also float in the air, and its design will be exactly the same as that of “Start”. The action center will be combined with control buttons – something similar has long been used in some other operating systems. Almost all mentions of this new menu indicate that it will look like an island – control buttons will be placed on a separate panel, notifications on another, and specific elements (such as the player) on yet another separate panel. – Right angles will disappear and will be replaced by rounded corners. To tell the truth, insiders and concept designers do not agree on this issue – some are convinced that Microsoft will not change its traditions and will keep the right angles, while others are convinced that in 2021 Microsoft will follow the rounded trend. There’s some disagreement online about the window display island style, corner design, and menu levitation effect, but almost everyone is unanimous about window transparency. The vast majority of design leaks and renders show transparency and blurring across all windows, be it at least the Start menu or Explorer. What’s more, these effects even occur in the build of the canceled Windows 10X operating system, which Microsoft was developing for dual-screen devices and low-end gadgets in parallel with the Sun Valley project.
