Narrative
A psychic tries to uncover the truth about the murder of his sister at the crime scene. Strangeness as a whole consisted of McCarthy’s elements, “collected from images of horror.” “Wooden Man” is inspired by Jewish folklore about a gigantic, large clay figure that can be brought to life through rituals, doing the bidding of its creator. This film hooked me

Anyone who watches a lot of horror films knows how difficult it is to scare an audience these days. This is, without a doubt, one of the scariest and original indie horror films released in 2024. Oddity manages to tell what seems like a big story, in fact only in a few places.
And the story is also exciting
I can’t imagine that the budget was too big, and at times it seemed that the budget was small, but, in my opinion, it was just scary. For some reason, it always seems to me that big-budget horror films don’t pull off the scares as well because there’s something soothing about the studio polish. This movie had indie ferocity and the jump scares were SO EFFECTIVE. It’s not easy for me to jump, but it hit me several times.
